Message from the Head of the Department

In today’s world, where digitalization, sustainability, and global competition play a decisive role, the effective and efficient design of industrial systems has become more important than ever. This process requires industrial engineers who not only possess strong technical knowledge but also have analytical thinking skills, an interdisciplinary perspective, and the ability to develop practical solutions to real-life problems. As the Department of Industrial Engineering at OSTİM Technical University, our fundamental mission is to make our students active participants in this transformation and to educate competent, responsible, and visionary engineers of the future through our industry-integrated, strategic, and practice-oriented educational approach.

The strong industry–university collaboration, which lies at the heart of our university’s founding philosophy, is one of the most distinctive features of our department. Being part of the OSTİM ecosystem enables our students to engage with real industrial problems at an early stage in various fields such as manufacturing, logistics, defense industry, energy, and digital transformation, and to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application.

One of the core components of our educational program is workplace training, which allows students to gain sector experience before graduation. Through this practice, students have the opportunity to directly observe the expectations of the business world, become familiar with professional work culture, and apply their academic knowledge in real working environments. As a result, our graduates stand out as individuals who are ready for professional life, capable of problem-solving, willing to take responsibility, and highly competitive.

In addition to technical competencies, our department places great emphasis on educating individuals with strong human and ethical values, a high sense of social responsibility, well-developed communication skills, and a strong inclination toward teamwork. We believe that sustainable success is achieved not only through knowledge and technology, but also through values, responsibility, and a human-centered approach.
